Comfort Zone

Oh, Lord I know that you are by my side.
I know you see me no matter where I hide.

I wanted nothing more than to be comfortable, easing through, hassle free.
Boy, did you have something completely different in store for me.

You said “I want you to leave your COMFORT ZONE”
I said “I can’t, it’s taken me so long to figure out how to be at peace when I am alone”
You said “Your unwillingness I will not condone”

I said “…….nothing, complete silence, just stood there, dumbfounded, in awe………”

You said “I want you to step out in faith. Not faith in your abilities, but faith in me alone.
I said “I will go where you say Lord, if you lead the way; as long as I am not going on my own.”

Be willing and obey.
I will lead you where I want, and tell you what to say.

You must face adversity, if I am to refine your character and your heart.
If you don’t stop to listen and obey, my plan for your life can’t start.

I don’t want you to play it safe. I want you to take the first step.
So my plan for you can unfold.
I want the glory, for everything that everyone will behold.

I don’t want you to hide away.
I want you to boldly live each day.

I don’t want you to retreat into a shell.
I want you to step out in faith so when my plan unfolds you will have something to tell.

Comfort doesn’t glorify my name!
I am sorry Lord, I will the honor of your name proclaim.

Comfort doesn’t give me praise!
I am sorry Lord, I will mend the error of my ways.

Lord, help me overcome adversity with you by my side
This strips me of pride, and doesn’t let me hide.

Lord, help me set aside my fear.
Show me how you are always so near.

Lord, help me keep my eyes fixed on your prize.
Show me what it means to be truly wise.

I step out of my comfort zone.
I know that I am not alone.
\
Lord, I take your hand, and by faith alone, I walk with you.
I know there is not a single thing, the two of us together can not do.
How sweet it is, to know and walk with one so true.
